BJP president Amit Shah on Sunday accused the Congress of encouraging “Urban Naxals” and said that his party will place Maoists in prison if it’s voted to power in Telangana.
“Urban Naxals” is a phrase used to refer to city-based fans working in front businesses of proscribed Maoist outfits.
Addressing a public meeting in Nirmal district, Shah said, “Lately they (Urban Naxals) were detained in Maharashtra. Even the BJP authorities there, headed by Devendra Fadnavis, place them behind bars, but Rahul Gandhi encouraged them.”
“Rahul baba, do you know that countless men and women in Telangana have expired because of Naxalism?” he asked.
The BJP leader claimed Maoists were”hiding” in various areas of the country and said that his party will search for them and send them into prison. “They have just two choices — join the mainstream or get prepared to face jail,” Shah said.
In addition, he coached his firearms Telangana Rashtra Samithi (TRS) leader and the nation’s caretaker chief minister K Chandrashekhar Rao, popularly called KCR, for demanding reservation for minorities.
The BJP leader said Rao-led Telangana authorities had forwarded a proposal to the Centre demanding 12 percent reservation for minorities despite understanding it isn’t feasible to achieve that.
“You do not worry. If KCR, the Congress, the TDP and Communists come together, I promise that until the BJP government is at the Centre, religion-based reservation won’t be allowed,” Shah said.
He accused Rao of neglecting to offer employment to the relatives of individuals who sacrificed their lives throughout the Telangana statehood movement.
Shah maintained Prime Minister Narendra Modi-led central authorities had extended over 2.30 lakh crore for Telangana’s growth in the past four years, but the capital hadn’t been utilised for the nation’s growth.
“More than 2.30 lakh crore was awarded by the central authorities to Telangana. Had it been some other nation, difficulties would have been solved back by utilizing those funds. He (KCR) isn’t concerned about the kids of Telangana, but just around his son and daughter,” he alleged.
The BJP leader told the gathering he had brought a message from Modi which requested the public to bring the party to power from the 7 December Assembly polls in order that Telangana could be developed as a model condition.
Shah said the surveys will determine the future of each kid in Telangana and requested individuals to strengthen the hands of Modi by beating the TRS and additional parties.
