The Congress now launched a dedicated site to take ideas from the people to prepare the party’s manifesto for its 2019 Lok Sabha elections under the subject ‘Jan Aawaz’ (people’s voice).
In a media conference in New Delhi, senior party leader and former Finance Minister P Chidambaram launched the site — www.manifesto.inc.in.
He said the site has the choice for 16 languages in addition to a committed WhatsApp number to get suggestions.
“We expect that millions of individuals take part in the manifesto consultations,” Mr. Chidambaram said.
Congress has begun work to compose it is manifesto for its 2019 elections,” he said adding a 22 member committee was constituted to create it.
“The procedure for consultation began on October 1,” Mr. Chidambaram said. There are over 20 topics that would be cared for such as agriculture, market, business and Micro, Small and Medium Enterprises (MSME).
“Till date, over 30 consultations have occurred for the groundwork of their manifesto and approximately 150-160 longer until December end.”
The Congress Working Committee will have a decision on a draft manifesto prepared by the committee.
The manifesto will be launched in a suitable time prior to the 2019 elections, Mr. Chidambaram added.
